Ms. Haley’s criticism of Mr. Assad’s government also came as Mr. Trump adopted a tougher tone toward the Syrian leader. At a White House news conference on Wednesday, Mr. Trump said the attack on Tuesday “crossed a lot of lines for me” and that his attitude toward “Syria and Assad has changed very much.”

The obesity problem is in part a side effect of Mexico’s economic progress. As wages have risen, the average daily intake of calories has soared. In 2012 Mexico was the world’s top per capita consumer of soda in the world guzzling 176 liters per person per year, according to the Mexican government. That’s nearly 500 cans of soda for every man, woman, and child. (Mexico was recently overtaken by Argentina, the U.S., and Chile.) Coca-Cola is practically the national drink in Mexico. Type 2 diabetes has skyrocketed as soda consumption has risen.

It must be stressed that we’re constantly exploring, observing, and discovering new things about our galaxy and the trillions of celestial bodies that populate it. It stands to reason that we could uncover yet another, even larger star in the future. Our perspective, on a universal scale, is infinitesimally small. Even if UY Scuti is the largest star in the Milky Way, there could be enormous other stars in far away galaxies that dwarf those of our own, somewhere within this indescribably vast universe. Alas, we will may never know.
