Welcome to the Evolving Man Project’s ‘Evolved Man of the Week’ profiles. Each week we will highlight an individual that embodies what it means to be an evolved man, famous and non-famous men alike. The world needs to know their stories and deeds. This week’s honor goes to dog trainer and expert, New York Times best-selling author, public speaker, and television star Cesar Milan.
Mr. Milan is one of the world’s première dog behavior specialists and has gained a worldwide following thanks to his techniques of training people and rehabilitating dogs. This fame and notoriety have earned Cesar the title of the Dog Whisperer.
Cesar Milan was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. He grew up on a farm where his grandfather worked and developed a fondness for working with feral dogs. He crossed over to the United States from Mexico border at the age of 21, with no job or money. He spent his early years in the States homeless and working odd jobs. Through those hard times, Cesar kept his passion for pooches front and center. In his newly adopted home of Los Angeles, Caesar would earn extra money walking dogs for busy Americans. He gained a solid reputation for being able to walk a pack of dogs without any leashes. Cesar was able to turn his luck and created the Dog Psychology Center. He would go on to find success as television’s leading dog expert. And go on to star in shows such as the Dog Whisperer, Cesar 911, and Dog Nation. He is the author of several books on dog behavior and a New York Times Best Selling author. Here is Cesar in his own words on people and dogs:
