Welcome to the Evolving Man Project’s “Evolved Man of the Week” profile. Each week we will highlight an individual that embodies what it means to be an evolved person, famous and non-famous individual alike. The world needs to know their stories and deeds. This week’s honor goes to freelance journalist and social media manager, Omar Ghraieb.

Omar was the first English-language columnist from Palestine for The Huffington Post, has been featured on Al Jazeera Media Network, and is considered among the top influential Arabs online with a large social media following. He has also worked with organizations such as ACF (Action Against Hunger) and MSF (Doctors without Borders). Omar studied Mass Media, Journalism, and Public Relations at Al Azhar University. He routinely blogs at Gaza Times and updates his 37K followers on the latest news in Gaza and the rest of Palestine’s occupied territory. 

Here is Omar Ghraieb in his own words about his home and the humanity lost in the midst of the Israeli Occupation in Gaza:

“As I bid farewell to my humanity and soul today and mourn them, I bid farewell to the dead Arab nation and Arab leaders, but without mourning. Human rights organizations, as well — I bid them farewell; they have always failed to protect human rights. Reports and documents do not protect innocent children.

I also bid farewell to all aid agencies in Gaza, for using the blood of Palestinians as a propaganda stunt to collect millions in “donations.” I bid farewell to international humanity.”

As the world watches the latest destruction of Gaza and unnecessary loss of life as the Apartheid State continues its genocide on Palestinian people. We at the Evolving Man Project stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine. And we denounce the violent suppression of the people of Palestine right to freedom and self-determination by the Israeli Government. 

We do not condone Islamophobia or Anti-Semitism here at the Evolving Man Project, but we stand against state-sanctioned repression at home or abroad. Omar Ghraieb uses his voice and journalistic talents to shed light on the plight of the Palestinian people. Amidst the sea of misinformation and propaganda surrounding the Palestine/Israel conflict. But it’s hardly a conflict when one side is well-funded a nuclear power, and the other side are descendants of people whose land was stolen. Today we honor Omar Ghraieb as our Evolved Man of the Week.
