In this article, I will discuss the not-so-surprisingly controversial slogan and hashtag that sparked a modern-day civil rights movement, #BlackLivesMatter. I will explain the merits of the movement and why it matters now more than ever. Detractors and Neo-conservatives (Shout out to Fox News) have tried to undermine the statement ‘black lives matter” with the comeback “all lives matter.” Hopefully, after careful reading, all folks will understand why black lives matter.

So, why do Black Lives Matter? It’s quite simple, they do! Happy Black History Month and pass the hot sauce.
