The World Has Too Many Freaks

So far, 2020 has been one hell of a roller coaster ride that is yet to end. A global pandemic has hit the United States and the rest of the world hard. In the U.S., we’re reaching 100,000 dead and almost 40 million unemployed in the three short months since lockdowns began in earnest. While an incompetent president is only emboldened due to a so-called opposition party inaction. Whose only real #Resistance has been ripping up speeches and petty clapbacks on Twitter. But Trump still got his Space Force. Yes, this must be the prequel to Space Balls. Since mid-March, many states have begun lockdowns and the quarantining of those at the highest risk. The U.S. was slow to react to stop the spread of this disease. It’s a series of stupid events that continue to show any sane person that we all are living in the worse timeline. Murder Hornets anyone?

The United States isn’t alone in its stupidity when it comes to fighting this disease. Japan never fully shutdown touting that it would destroy its economy. Sweden continued the business, as usual, has the death toll raises compared to its fellow Northern European neighbors. U.K Prime Minister, Boris Johnson thought COVID was a joke until he ended up in the hospital. The Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, has taken to promoting conspiracy theories and letting states decide their own fates without any executive leadership besides placing blame on everyone else for COVID. I guess that’s why Brazil remains the USA of South America? The sad reality is many more lives could have been saved, but humans.

Now, the freak show doesn’t end with these nation’s leaders and governments’ lack of action to protect its citizens. In fact, in the U.S. and Brazil, we’ve seen anti-lockdown protests pop up in these respective countries. In the U.S., folks at these protests aren’t championing that the government provides citizens universal healthcare and a living stipend until a vaccine is found. Nope, people are protesting their right to go about their daily lives like everything is fine. Let’s go back to getting hair cuts and playing golf, because FREEDOM! Even if a deadly virus that has killed hundreds of thousand still looms. We’ve yet to hit the second and third waves. But being told to shelter in place is tyranny to white folks because we all know that the 5G network is the real cause of the Rona. Now, we’re (The United States) just gonna pretend that the Rona isn’t a thing and reopen like everything is fine. I hate it here!

Now the MAGA gang has joined in an unholy alliance of idiocy with the Anti-Vax crowd. I’m sure Fox News has painted these brave souls as heroes. But God forbid a black NFL player takes a knee to protest police brutality. These folks may seem dense, but they can be very dangerous, remember New Zealand. But since future Trillionaires run the world, if a vaccine is ever developed, you’d probably have to sell a kidney to pay for it. Just think we could be on the path to Medicare for all, but those damn “Bernie Bros’ hurt a bunch of liberals’ feelings on Twitter, so we’re left with the old rapey guy stuck in his basement as our alleged savior. Thanks, Obama!

I sit back in and bear witness to the insanity of it all and can conclude that George Carlin was right. We are living in a freak show, and we have the best seats in the house.
